Sober 29 years since 4/7/1982, Jack was a Maryland state senator from 1974-76 and a Judge from 1977 to 1993.
His 94 year old mother is convinced he is not alcoholic. He says he barely qualifies for AA: never had a DUI or DWI, never been in a sanitarium or jail. But when he drinks he gets thirsty and cannot stop.
He actually starts talking about Step 3 because he came in "bristling with antagonism about things of God."
On 12/22/1989, while he was in the Program, Judge Jack was a victim of a pipe bomb sent to him in the mail.
He died eight months after this talk on Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at age 70.
