A big , deep voiced, Alabama native, Phil has been in Al-anon since 5/4/1994. He is sponsored by Bo T (AFG) of Alabama. There was no drinking in his house growing up. He grew up in the church. He studied in Europe to be in the seminary. But there was something in him that felt he could not live up to that way of life. He came back to Alabama and got a good job with Alabama Power.
Then he got the idea that he wanted to be in the Rodck-n-Roll business. That was strange because he was married to a bible school graduate, didn't listen to Rock-n-Roll and had never been to a concert. He quit his job, went back to school, got in the business and started having new and strange experiences. He lost that marriage, quit school, was homeless and began having multiple relationships with alcoholics.
He came into Al-anon when he reached a bottom as a result of poor choices in relationships. It was embraced by a loving group that helped him live a life based on principles. He made many mistakes after joining the program but the new found friends were always there for him.
