Sober 38 years since 11/16/1963, Lew was born in a small town on the Maine-Canadian border. He was found abandoned in a cold crib, adopted by a kind family, in and out of jails in Canada until he came into AA from a Salvation Army mission by the Grace of God and the fellowship.
He points to the passages in the Big Book that indicate he can be a "recovered" alcoholic. He refers to the Big Book often. He used to wake up with the gimmies and went to bed with the wants.
He says the Steps are very simple:
Steps 1 and 2 you fess up,
3 you look up,
4,5,6 and 7 you clean up,
8 and 9 you pay up and
10, 11 and 12 you keep it up
