Sober 38 years since 11/6/1980, Earl became so popular as a speaker that he took off speaking even at meetings for six years.
His sponsor told him, that was enough.
I think that break has made his message deeper.
I have a special place in my heart for Earl. I was driving back from a camping trip with my son when I sensed him get this deal while listening to Earl's talk at Sacramento in 2002. He drank one more time.
We were at this event together and sat down at the same time during the sobriety count down.
That is one of the reasons I keep WeJoy going and growing.
