Over 30 years in the program, Barbara does a classic piece on her 12 steps before Al-Anon. Dick A., her qualifier who also spoke at this roundup, required her to go to Al-Anon if she was going to marry him.
She went to Seminary School but ran into prejudice against the concept of female pastors when she attempted to find a congregation. Past Delegate and very active member of Al-Anon in Georgia, she has been in substance abuse and family counseling for many years.
Dick and Barbara actively practice the 12 Traditions and the 12 Concepts in their marriage and all their relationships. They often share in workshops on "Emotional Sobriety" to show others how important this is to a quality of life.
