Sober 31 years since 2/13/1976, Walt says his story lacks the punch of some of the speakers before him.
"But I'm stuck with my story and unfortunately so are you...My goal... is to communicate to somebody in this room the miracle that can take place in your life if you decide to follow a few simple suggestions."
Walt took off his AA Sheriff's badge about 15 years ago.
If not for the Third Tradition he may not have gotten sober.
Walt came off the streets and was a born hustler.
He was raised in a small house on a dirt road in rural Arkansas. He wonders about his parents because, one year, they gave him a pair of roller skates.
