Sober 4 years since 11/10/1990, on her belly button birthday, she started recovery in another program.
She came to Georgia in 1987 from Michigan where she left a 15 year old son.
She "celebrated" her birthday 1990 with sores on her mouth from the drugs, a fifth of liquor by her side, laying on the floor by candlelight because she did not want anyone to see into her apartment in a notorious drug neighbor.
She was unable that night to take a call from her son, got down on her knees and asked God for help. She entered treatment at the Fulton County Treatment Center.
She thought AA meant they taught you how to drink anonymously.
