(#2224) Tracy S (Woodstock, GA)
3/7/2018 in Woodstock, GA  EVENT: Breakfast Club Monthly Speaker  TYPE: AA, Female, Story

Sober 10 years since 7/22/2007, Tracy's story has changed in many ways since she spoke at this same event two years before.

Tracy was GSR of the Breakfast Club at the time of this talk.

She was in the bar business for many years and had a great time doing it.

After she crossed the line, her body could not process alcohol.

She lived by herself but hid her booze in her closet.

One time, she came out of a blackout at Walmart with a basket full of wine bottles.

She bought an alarm clock that had the day of the week on it so when she came out of a blackout she would know what day it was but it needed to have the month on it.

In the end, even her mom and sister had given up on her.

It took her a while to realize that:

"These are my people."

She got a sponsor on her seventh day.

She went through the steps the first two times via Novelco.

After her last talk she went through a period of isolation and found she was dealing with hormonal issues.

She was going from suicidal to homicidal in a matter of minutes.

"I could not feel gratitude anymore."

It was a hormonal thing that is not often talked about in the rooms. She found a natural solution for it. Now she can feel gratitude again.

"Joy is a direct result of gratitude."
