A lively, energetic speaker, Traci was sober 29 years since 4/5/1985 and her husband celebrated 20 years the night of this talk. She calls herself an extreme case of alcoholism who seems to attract similar women.
She grew up in a small town in East Texas in a heavy church going family that had been affected by alcoholism but were not alcoholic. Her parents were married 56 years at the time of her father's death. Her siblings were much older than her.
She had her first drink at 12 and was a blackout drinker from the start. Alcohol made her breathe. From then on her life centered around drinking.
Traci has had the same sponsor for 22 years.
