Sober almost 20 years since 11/12/1951, Tom was Southeast Regional Trustee for AA at the time of this talk.
He started drinking at 14 and drank for 25 years. While in the service overseas, he did not drink. That was the most miserable time in his life.
When he got back, he holed up in a hotel and drank, blacked out, and realized something in moments of clarity.
He knew he had to get sober but also knew he had to keep drinking.
