Sober 15 years since around 8/30/2001, Stacy let the Power flow through her in this share.
She was raised in the San Fernando Valley in California. Her non-alcoholic parents fought until they divorced in 1978 and her mother moved them into to a condo community where Stacy hooked up with the other "latch-key" kids.
She saw the other girls get drunk and get out of control and she swore she would never drink and would stay in control. But at age 14 she found another substance she said she would never do that did "it" for her. By age 15 she quit school, her boyfriend was beating her and her life was out of control.
At 17 and 98 pounds she went to her mom and told her she had a problem and could not stop. She went to treatment and found an "Eskimo" who took her to her first AA meeting. She did not find her comfort zone in Cocaine Anonymous (CA) but did in AA.
She stayed "dry" for 11 years in AA, having never drank alcohol, moving from state to state.
At 29 1/2 she started drinking and the wheels came off in 1 1/2 years. Her strange, brief journey with alcohol began.
Her low threshold of pain brought her back in the rooms willing. She got a 24 year female sponsor, who had it together.
Stacy began taking direction. She met her husband in Chicago while visiting her father.
They have lived in Arizona , Chicago and now Georgia. They have two children even though Stacy does NOT do hormones and pregnant well.
She thought she was done after the first child but her husband convinced her an only child would be spoiled.
She is now a stay at home mom who has used the program to become at Peace with who she is though at times being a mom is the last thing she wants to do.
Neat story with many interesting twists with a great message about using the Program and the Fellowship to keep from going crazy.
