(#283) Peck W (Athens, TX)
June 1977 in Dallas, TX  EVENT: 32nd Texas State AA Convention  TYPE: AA, Male, Story, Historical

Sober 29 years since Oct 1949, Peck is a lively speaker who tells lots of stories about the old days and delightful little analogies. He went from the Navy in WWI 1919 to skid row in the 1940's. He was a cook most of his life. As an alcoholic he cannot drink with any measure of success. He is allergic to three things: alcohol, work and poverty. He retired in 1962 and says he does nothing and doesn't start that until noon. AA is the greatest thing invented for his life. He has been to AA meetings all over the world.
