A member of Al-Anon over 19 years, Patti was once in a position where she sentenced people to Al-Anon, Alateen or AA but did not understand the nature of the disease or the solution.
"And I was very much at dis-ease."
Her husband Ken, the wino, is her qualifier.
They tried a geographic cure for a full year in Australia where they had no support groups and, by the way, Australians drink pretty hard.
She lost herself trying to be helpful to him.
