Sober 10 years since since 1/1/1989 and speaking Sunday morning, Mike was born in Georgia near the Alabama border. His mother remarried and moved to Scottdale, GA near Decatur when he was young.
He was a house painter by trade after he got sober. He has no blame to put on his family for his alcoholism. He simply drank too much liquor.
He was in the military stationed in Japan in 1960 and got arrested by shore patrol walking in a kimono and wooden shoes. He was a great sailor on the ship but could not handle the shore.
Released early and later back home his disease took him to dark places, robbing drug stores and serving prison time.
Mike was a great member of AA in Woodstock who helped many men get and stay sober.
