(#628) Malachy M (Tupelo, MS)
8/18-20/2000 in Cartersville, GA  EVENT: 23rd Allatoona Roundup  TYPE: AA, Male, Story

This is a great talk from a well loved speaker. Originally from Ireland, he drank alcoholically first as an alter boy. He came to Louisiana in 1971 as a Roman Catholic priest in New Orleans. Because of his behavior when drinking, he was moved from New Orleans to a small parish in Cajun Country and lived there for 25 years. He came into AA the first time in October 1979 via an intervention. He was sent to a drying out place for priests in Rochester, NY. He did not want what we had. He believed he was different. After four years and very successful he felt he no longer needed AA. Entertaining, poignant, insightful. He has been living in Mississippi since 1997.
