Sober 19 years the day of this talk, Kenna tells the story of the newly sober guy at bat in an AA softball game who froze as gnats were swarming around him and someone in the crowd yelled, "We see them, too!". She came into the program on a string of broken promises. She got sober in Honolulu. Suffered from panic attacks early in sobriety but lives free today. She is grateful for being legitimate today with a valid drivers license, working vehicle with valid tag. She traveled the world in her disease out of fear rather than courage, running from responsibility. She grew up in Santa Cruz, the youngest of four in an alcoholic home. Is now a teacher with a fantastic relationship with her parents.
