Sober 23 years since 7/5/1970, Ken says he loves to see a newcomer laugh because he knows a little secret:
You can't think and laugh at the same time.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY in a tough neighborhood, his early life in the criminal world is in stark contrast with his life of service in AA.
I got lost at the venue for the 2010 International in San Antonio, got off the escalator, and happened on Ken, who I had spent a little time with when he was in Cartersville, GA. He was with his roommate from India who taught him the concept of namaste - The God in me sees the God in you - which he uses to close this talk.
Ken was still alive and sharing his great sense of humor and passion for sobriety in 2024 when this recording was captured from cassette.
