A great communicator, Kathy was raised in a non-alcoholic, Irish, Catholic family though her grandfather was what her mother called, "Just a mean Irish drunk."
Laughter was an important part of her family but she also had an inflated sense of tragedy.
Church was a powerful source of strength growing up.
"I was always fascinated by kids who got into trouble...If Saddam Hussein had been an exchange student, I would have been attracted to him."
Kathy also did a workshop on the Steps that is very good.
