He is an alcoholic because he had a bizarre relationship to alcohol that he did not have with other liquids. He does not apologize for his drug use between drinks. In fact, he thinks it is bizarre that speakers feel they need to apologize for that strange behavior and be OK with vehicular homicide and being raped in prison. Great speaker. Great talk.
