Sober 8 years since 9/30/2014, Karen is passionate about AA and about service work.
Growing up she was told she was ugly and stupid and tried all her life to be pretty and smart.
The problem with that is you never know when you have arrived.
She started drinking when her kids were teenagers, she was divorced and met a real playboy. Then came blackouts, crashes, DUI's, and consequences.
She got sober first in AA in Maryland, had a five year lapse, and then really found this Design for Living in Hershey, PA.
She relocated to the Atlanta area four years ago.
"AA was everything I thought I never wanted and everything I know I can't live without today."
