Juanitawalked into her first Al-anon meeting 30 years earlier, 7/2/1986, not because she needed to but because they would not let her husband out of treatment until she went to three meetings of Al-anon. Her first thought was, "I've been trying to get rid of this S.O.B. for a long time -you want him that bad, you can keep him!". Her goal in life at that point was to make his life miserable. The program taught her, that whenever she starts to blame or criticize no matter what they did - it is never them. Her family has changed as the result of living the 12 steps.
