Still young and sober 25 years since 3/7/1989, John is a very funny, animated speaker and very active member of AA.
He calls himself a scum-bag when he came into the rooms. He came from a very good alcoholic family that was not active all the time. His family had three types of members: immensely successful, alcoholics and a ton of Al-anon women. There was also a ton of idealistic love. John was born on third base and started running backwards. He thought he looked funny and felt disconnected.
He went from living in a trashed house to now where he has a sign on his office door that says "John S., PHD,GED".
How he got from there to here is delightful and touching.
