John has been sober since St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 1985. He came to AA on an intervention because everybody else wanted him to get sober. He lied to his wife about calling AA and that the next meeting was next summer. He was a pathological liar and a daily drunk. He and his wife have 11 children. John got sober when his oldest son was 15 years old. He got in trouble from his first drink at 18 when he and a friend threw a TV out of an 18th story hotel window. John is soft spoken and quietly humorous.
