Sober 35 years since 1939, Joe was an early member of A.A. He was introduced to A.A. in 1937, two years after it was founded and six days after the founder of AA in Chicago, Earl T, got sober.
Joe did not stay sober or in the program in 1937. Finally he came in to stay after he tried some control drinking.
