Sober 10 years since 8/18/2006, Joanna's focus in this talk is - What it is like now to live life on a spiritual basis?
The Big Book on page 84 states, "We have entered the world of the Spirit."
Joanna shares experiences from her sober life that hint at what that world looks and feels like.
The path to her current state of moving in the Presence of her Higher Power started as G.O.D. - a group of drunks or good orderly direction. At nine months sober she went back to church. At two years she was led to Cherokee North Carolina and the Red Road. She has attended one retreat there for seven years. She is alert and open to spiritual messages - one amazing instance occurring just the week before this talk.
Sometimes her path has brought her into controversy because someone needed to speak up. Silence would have been wrong. It seems to have worked out well but she says,
"I wouldn't recommend it."
I saw her early on in her sobriety and was present at this talk. Her changes are more than average.
She is also passionate about being responsible in all areas of her life.
