Sober 26 years since 1/12/1992, fully qualified, six days before her 15th birthday, Jennifer has a great love for AA from doing things she did not want to do at first.
She grew up emotional and volatile in Texas outside Dallas with her dad and mentally ill step-mother.
Her mother was a bar worker and heavy drinker. That life appealed to Jennifer.
She grew up with her grandmother who called her "my little angel" but later told her "your halo is around your ankles".
In the end, she was mean, shaved head, violent, in immense pain but alcohol stopped working.
She suddenly realized that she was a nasty human being and would be better off dead. AA was not not in her plans but she said a heart-felt prayer.
The next morning her friend in AA called and asked if she wanted to go to meeting.
