Sober 14 years since 1/17/2017, Jackie's story has many angles: strong family background, Catholic private school, bullied in public school, recognition in college football and lots of potential that alcoholism repeatedly dissolved away.
He faced homelessness for the first and only time when he was several years sober.
But he stayed sober, kept going to meetings, sponsoring and staying connected to his network.
He hit a spiritual crisis recently in sobriety that brought him on a new path exploring meaning and his own mortality.
