Sober 26 years since 4/7/1982, Jack became a Judge and was nearly killed by a package pipe bomb before he came into the Program.
Married 42 years, Jack was a Maryland state senator from 1974-76 and a Judge from 1977 to 1993.
Jack's drinking took him to the point where most of his organs were shutting down. The surgeons convinced him to quit drinking for a year. He spent the worst time in his life not drinking and not changing.
He died sober, Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at age 70.
I am grateful I had a chance to spend a few moments with Jack over the years.
I need to remember to treat everyone I am with as if it is the last time I will see them alive.
