(#1260) Jack C (Hagerstown, MD)
7/16/2010 in Atlanta, GA  EVENT: 35th Atlanta Roundup  TYPE: AA, Male, Story

Funny with a purpose, sober 28 years since 4/8/1982, Judge Jack was the victim of a mail pipe bomb 12/22/1989.

Five years in high school because of drinking, Jack bummed around Oceanside, MD.

To keep from getting arrested for drinking he became a police officer there for several summers. He confiscated coolers full of beer, wine and booze to use for his own supply.

He went to law school attracted by the power and special treatments afforded. He became Deputy States Attorney and got a badge that made drinking and driving much safer.

Thus, he has never been arrested or had an alcoholic related offense.

He got elected State Senator and was given a license plate that made it even easier to drink and drive. He got appointed by the Governor as a circuit court judge.

He had been drinking all the time during this period.

I did have a chance to chat with Jack one on one six months before he died sober at age 70, July 31, 2012.
