A member for 21 years since 1972, funny with a great Virginia accent, her husband Tommy is her qualifier and he was at this event.
The one word that described her pre-Al-Anon was "discontented".
"I was never happy at any point in my life. If it was Saturday, I wished it was Monday. If it were winter, I wanted summer to come and if it was night I wished it was day. It was always going to be better at some other time or when something else happened. That's changed for me today and I am very grateful. I depended on other people to make me happy and when I wasn't happy it was someone else's fault."
