Sober since 1/6/1945, at 79 years of age Eve was glad to be an alcoholic because it allowed her to find out who she was through the program. This was her third time to speak at Sessions by the Sea. She was an alcoholic from the very beginning at age 17. We must remember the disease is physical, mental and spiritual. We have to learn to get the willingness to affect the change necessary to change all three. Sobriety is not an event but a process. It was what alcohol did for her not to her that makes her an alcoholic. She drank to cope. She shares how she faced fears and resentment while going through her divorce in sobriety. Eve worked in GSO in New York with Bill Wilson and traveled the world to see AA in action. The recording quality is average but the message is excellent.
