Ebby brought the message of recovery to Bill W. in the last half of November 1934. Bill sobered up the week of December 12th 1934 never to drink again. Ebby did drink again on several occasions. The first time was 2 years and 9 months after the historic meeting "around the kitchen table" (which Ebby, in a talk in Memphis 1958, said actually happen in the upstairs parlor with Lois present and Bill was not sharing his gin).
In this talk, Ebby covers in some detail the events that led to his first relapse. This is a very interesting talk that stands on its own merits as well as being great listening for AA armchair historians...like me.
