Sober 1 year as of 10/14/2021, Drew was 8 1/2 years sober when he tried what a friend called "California Sober" also known as the "marijuana maintenance plan".
Drew had let circumstances began to overwhelm him.
His sponsor had gone back out, then his grand sponsor went out.
Drew's father, who had directed him in the family business, lost his short-term memory leaving Drew in charge while the Pandemic had seriously affected their finances.
In meetings Drew said he was fine, but pride prevented him from sharing what was really going on - anxiety and panic.
He is facing some serious consequences from that "California Sober" experiment but thanked the arresting officers for probably saving his life.
It is hard to get more real than that.
