Sober 10 years since 2/16/1969, Dick got sober in Santa Barbara, CA. He grew up with two affluent alcoholics and swore he would never be like them.
There was an advantage to them drinking: He rolled his mom and dad when they got drunk. He was one of the best dressed kids in school.
Speaking about intellectual denial he shares:
