Sober 27 years since 4/4/1983, Deborah grew up with an alcoholic dad and sister. She never intended to become "the wreck of a person I became."
Deborah got sober but her sister tried but could not.
Deborah tried for a while not to drink but then at 11 decided she was smarter than her dad and sister and could probably drink.
She lasted until she was 15.
"I don't think I could have survived much beyond that age."
