Dawn is married to Peter C, her qualifier.
She was the youngest of 8 and daughter of the minister of the largest black church in the city.
There were some 5,000 in the congregation. This kept her parents so busy that they turned the job of raising her over to her grandparents.
As a result, she was sexually abused by her grandfather. She grew up feeling dirty and damaged.
Her grandfather died when she was six.
She was obese. She always thought she was on the outside looking in.
She is so grateful that Al-Anon has taught her how to be there for her husband and her son.
