(#273) Clancy I (Venice, CA)
1984 in Somewhere in CA  EVENT: Medical Panel on Alcoholism  TYPE: AA, Male, Workshop

Sober since 10/31/1957, Clancy is probably the most recorded speaker in AA. In this classic talk to members of the medical profession, Clancy describes alcoholism as "The Disease of Perception". He explains how medicine has ignored the disease in the past. He tells part of his story to illustrate his main point. He describes alcoholic emotions, dynamic memory, metaphysical insights and discolored perceptions. This is a great talk for the alcoholic and non-alcoholic alike. What is more amazing - Clancy is reasonably behaved and unoffensive.
