Sober since 1946, Chuck is probably 2nd only to Bill W. and Dr. Bob as the most quoted speaker in AA. He had a close relationship with Bill W. and was for a time a kind of mentor for Bill. For Area 16 which covers the state of Georgia, this is a fairly early recording of a speaker at a Georgia Conference. Also, at the time of this talk there were big changes occurring internally in Area 16 and I cannot imagine Chuck not being informed if not consulted on the proposed changes.
