(#1694) Chase S (Marietta, GA)
4/1/2017 in Woodstock, GA  EVENT: 34th HOW Place Anniversary  TYPE: AA, Male, Story

Sober 11 years since 5/4/2005, Chase is the current PI/CPC Chair of Area 16 - Georgia.

The Public Information (PI) and Cooperation with the Professional Community (CPC) roles are combined into one committee in Georgia.

Born in Atlanta to a single, artist mom, his father's family riddled with alcoholics, Chase got sober just before his 18th birthday and got active early.

After his mom's divorce when he was three, Chase was miserable, feeling less than, they struggled to make ends meet.

High-school got better when he got involved in completive drum-line and toured the USA but it is also where he had his first drink at a "coming of age party" even though he was afraid of alcohol. Suddenly it felt like everyone wanted to be his friend. That night he blacked out and passed out but he also understood why his dad drank.

From there, he did it as often as he could and as hard as he could. His first arrest charge was "Unruly Child". He was put on probation but did not get off for three years.
