Sober 25 years since 12/5/1987, Charlie was Trustee-at-Large on the AA General Service Board at the time of this talk.
He grew up in a very well-to-do part of Dallas called Highland Park.
He had a photographic memory that made school easy but did not help him remember what alcohol had done to ruin his life.
On the day of his last drink, he was severely underweight, dying, and looking forward to death.
