In Al-Anon 24 years since February 1969, Cathy and her mom came to their first meeting together and are both still members.
The blue collar speaker for the event, she grew up in alcoholic home, the oldest of 4 children.
Cathy looked up to her dad. It all came crashing down in a short period of time when they were living in NC.
"We had skid row at home."
Dad drank at home and was very happy. He did not know where he was all the time but Cathy did to the point she could not keep a job.
She could not focus on anything else.
In 1969 they responded to a phone number shown on a TV program, went to see a counselor who directed them to Al-Anon.
