Sober since October 1945, Bruce was a lawyer who Dr. Bob spent two hours trying to help around 1943. Bruce thought Bob was a sad case and if he ever got as bad as him he might join AA. Two years later it was bad enough. Bruce was a Class-B Trustee on the General Service Board. His slow deliberate delivery is typical of speaking styles of the time. His story is sometimes humorous, informative and filled with twists and turns.
