Sober 21 years since 1963, the Sunday morning speaker and a "beer alcoholic", Bob and his wife have eight children.
They dated in high school. He had three weeks in professional baseball. They could not stand his drinking and he could not stand their rules.
He pulled a shotgun on his mother-in-law while drinking.
Sobriety has turned the responsibility of the eight kids from a problem into a joy.
"I've yet to find anything wrong with sobriety."
