Dad was a drunk and died drunk. Supper was the biggest problem - 98% of the battle at an alcoholic home. Left home around 12. Went to Catholic school and then the Marines. Not well emotionally or spiritually. Came home to marry one of the first girls he met back home. She was a cheap date and liked to drink wine. She got pregnant and they married in the 50's. They tried many geographic cures - lots of role playing. Got to the point he wanted to die. Wife went to AA and they did for her what he could not. Then he was introduced to Al-anon and felt overwhelming love for the first time. Shares how he took the steps to recovery.
