AREA 16 ARCHIVES

Bill A. F. , sobriety date unknown, speaking at Area 16's January Georgia State Service Assembly (GSSA) is a soft spoken old timer. He went to the hospital five times in nine weeks before sobering up in Florence, SC at the State Sponsored Palmetto Center run by a doctor who himself got sober in AA. After a long talk with the doctor, Bill went back to his room and concluded, "There must be a better way." A close doctor friend had previously diagnosed him as "hopeless alcoholic". He is now relieved to find out he was just an alcoholic.
