Sober 36 years since 5/24/1948, Art was a musician by trade before sobriety and at the time of this talk.
He spent some time in Chicago and some in New York.
Married twice, with five kids, he got sober in New York.
He knew Bill W and relates stories about him.
Art helped setup one of the first Jazz concerts in Newport, RI in the 1940's before the festival started there in 1954.
On his last drunk a friend told him he was sober in AA. Art asked him how he did it.
His friend said,
"Here's my card - call me up when you feel worse... A week later I called him up."
