Sober since 5/18/1981, Ann is a hairdresser who came from a real fine Catholic family. Her dad was Portuguese and drank heavily until he met her mother and he quit entirely. It confused Ann for a long time why he could quit and she could not. She was alcoholic - he was not. She drank to become "equal on the inside". She was dating a Sheriff who got her mad. She got drunk and spray painted his car and he never knew it was her. When she got mad, she got even.
At five years sober she was telling everyone she was fine but could not tell even her female sponsor what was going on in her head. She got a male sponsor who did not care if he hurt her feelings. He helped her get rid of the hole in her gut by telling her the truth.
