Sober 29 years since May 1989, Angel was born in Israel.
Her mother's escape from Nazi persecution in WWII and all the associated fears and stories became a driving force in both their lives.
Another driving force was being molested by her girlfriend's father.
Though she joined AA in 1989, she was 25 years in AA before she found a relationship with God.
She was able to make peace with her mother and took care of her until her death this year.
