Sober 30 days since 9/7/2017, this is a success story, one of courage and one that needed to be told.
In AA some years, Alex got to be a sober wife, mother and daughter through some tough times. On depression medication successfully for years, she felt pressured to get off them.
She reached a point where she felt the choice was commit suicide or drink. She chose to drink.
I have heard a well proven suggestion in AA that few of us are doctors and need not give medical advice.
It is, after all, a spiritual program and we shall forever remain non-professional.
Alex was asked some months before to tell her story, relapsed, contacted the chair well before the meeting and was told, "It is your decision."
I think she chose ... wisely.
