(#2511) Al V (Woodstock, GA)
7/5/2014 in Woodstock, GA  EVENT: Breakfast Club Monthly Speaker  TYPE: AA, Male, Story

Sober 26 years since 1/1/1988, Al's first day of school was frightening because he could not speak a lick of English.

He was always behind.

He was told he was stupid because he could not read or write.

Then he found pot and alcohol (after an experiment smoking bananas proved fruitless ;-) ).

That worked for 30 years until four o'clock one morning. he reached a point where he could not stop crying and could not take it anymore.

He called his ex-wife. She came to take him to treatment for 28 days where he was educated about his disease and AA.

But when he left, he joined Al's Anonymous for three months until the emptiness brought him into AA for good.

NOTE: I have been very remiss in not posting this talk sooner.
